Heather to grill Macca
|
Thought it had all gone quiet on the Heather Mills/Paul McCartney divorce front recently? Think again! The pair are set to face one another in the High Court next week, for what promises to be one of the most memorable celebrity showdowns in legal history. Mind you, technically it's only going to be "memorable" for a handful of key people, as the proceedings are set to take place behind closed doors.
Fiery Heather has dumped her legal team and is now representing herself - which means she'll be questioning her estranged husband when he comes to the witness box. Uh-oh!
"It's an extraordinary aspect that Heather will be cross-examining Sir Paul in person rather than through counsel," legal expert Deborah Bangay tells the Daily Mirror. "Should she attempt to bring up allegations of violence or other untoward behaviour it's for the judge to decide what relevance such evidence has, if any, on the financial award."
Heather is reportedly fighting for an estimated £50m of the former Beatle's £825m fortune. "This is it," says an overexcited source. "It's the culmination of almost two years of fighting over money. It's not going to be pretty."
Oh dear - we suddenly have a desperate urge to hide behind a cushion, and only come out when it's all over...
